” Loving and vibrant community, dedicated to prayer & devoted to Jesus. “
Kersten & Gillian Feth
Lead Pastors
Kersten and Gillian met at ministry school 18 years ago and haven’t looked back since. They are passionate about seeing people and families become mended and whole; they laugh, eat and cry with us and we are so blessed to be led by them.
Just know that if you need a good listener, you’ve come to the right place.
Rosie Lanoue
Kids & Family Pastor
This is Rosie—the kiwi-born Australian who heads up our Kids and Family ministry. If you know her you know that she cannot get enough of people, outreach, and the local and global church. You can reach her at rosie@freedomcentre.com.
If you do, she’ll definitely want to meet you for tea, or a portage through Algonquin. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Austin Leck
Youth Pastor
Here’s Austin, who leads Freedom Youth alongside his wife, Kayla. He has a lot to give in the world of worship so we are also blessed to have him oversee our worship department. You can always find him playing any instrument imaginable or watching the game—his hockey and baseball knowledge actually scares us. Get in touch at austin@freedomcentre.com.
Sue Chilvers
Financial Administrator
Sue lives and breathes administration and out of the many roles she has played at Freedom Centre, is now our reliable Financial Administrator. We’re blessed to have her years of proficiency and experience in this job. She’s a big-picture thinker and a step-by-step doer—you can always rely on her to find what you need.
Kayla Leck
Church Administrator
Kayla is the other half of our dynamic Youth Pastoring duo and is also our friendly church administrator. If you need something arranged and in order, she’s the one for the job (even if that thing is yourself). You can count on Kayla for plans, dates and data, and a generous listening ear. What doesn’t she do!? Find her at kayla@freedomcentre.com.
At the heart of Freedom Centre is a deep love for Jesus and a commitment to living His Great Commission. Our beliefs ground us, and our values guide how we love, serve, and grow together as a community.
In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
In the bodily resurrection of the dead: of the believer to eternal fellowship with God and of the unbeliever to eternal condemnation.
That the scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired and inerrant Word of God, the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of humanity, and the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life.
That Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He now sits as our High Priest and Advocate.
That the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation for all who repent and believe, and that all those who receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become the children of God.
That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, convict people, regenerate, indwell, guide, gift, instruct, and empower the believer for Godly living and service.
That humans were created in the image of God, but fell into sin and are therefore separated from God. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit is salvation effected and relationship with God restored.
That the true Church is composed of all people who through saving faith in Christ Jesus have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the head.
That the Biblical definition of marriage is between one biological man and one biological woman.
Marriage is a unique reflection of God’s faithful love for all humankind. The relationship of husband and wife reflects the covenanting self-giving love between Christ and His Church.
Our desire is to allow the Spirit to fill and empower us in every area of life and ministry. The anointing to accomplish in the Spirit what we cannot accomplish in the flesh will is a distinguishing characteristic of a vibrant, soul-winning church. Lk. 24:49; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 4:29-31; 1Jn. 2:27
Our example of worship is found in the Davidic order of worship described in the Psalms and birthed in the Tabernacle of David in the Old Testament. Davidic worship is demonstrative worship characterized by the biblical expressions of clapping, shouting, reverence, singing, dancing, bowing, and banners. Ps.150; SS. 3:1-4; Jn. 4:24; Eph.5:19-20; Rev.19:5-8
Our goal is to be truthful, vulnerable, humble, and transparent in our dealings with God, our families, one another, and the world. Connect groups are imperative and serve as the primary care-giving ministry of the church. Ps.24:3-4; Gal. 6:4-6 ; Acts 2:42-47
The ministries listed in Ephesians 4:11 are to be fully functioning right up till the return of Christ. This means we value equally: apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists. All these ministries are needed for the Church to be fully functioning. Eph. 4:11-13; 1 Cor. 12:28
We continue to teach the words, works and life of Christ through mentorship, example and formal teaching. Connect groups are imperative and are a primary way of discipling all believers. Jos. 1:8; Prov. 23:12; Matt:28:19
We seek the Lord to know Him and to send revival throughout the land. We engage in strategic prayer and intercession for those in need as well as our communities, cities, and nations. This operates through structured ministry and church-wide engagement. Matt.9:38; 2Cor. 10:4; 1Cor. 2:15
We believe that the entire Body of Christ is equipped with the gifts of the Spirit in order to demonstrate His ministry to the world. Everyone, not just ministry leads, are raised to take ownership for their own assignments from the Lord. Accountability systems are non-negotiable, ensuring the maximum potential of every believer is actualised. Jn. 20:21; 1 Tim.4:11
Every member of the Body is prioritised here at Freedom Centre. We acknowledge the need for every person to be discipled and to play a role in the community. We are blessed by the many generations represented at Freedom Centre and prioritise the healing of marriages and relationships, equipping parents, strengthening intergenerational ties and sowing into our children and youth’s journeys with Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jer. 31:1; Mal.4:6
One of our primary missions is to reach the lost. Therefore, our desire is to cultivate a church culture where outreach to the community, city, and nations is a passionate priority for every believer. It’s a joy of ours to financially support local missions like youth drop-in centres and food initiatives. An ongoing emphasis of mission is woven through every ministry of the church. Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5; 1Cor. 9:19-23.
Spiritual restoration is a vital component to the overall ministry of Freedom Centre. We are committed to the total freedom of those in spiritual bondage and in need of deliverance from demonic strongholds and curses. 2 Cor.10:3-5; Luke11:21-22.
