For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways; declares the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. – Isaiah 55:8-9
In Junior High we are currently learning about the attributes of God. This week we learned that God is infinite!
What an important thing to learn. As people we are forced to face our limits all day every day. At home we can face limits in our ability to communicate clearly with our spouse or the limit in our patience towards our children. At work we face the limit in our ability to get along with different styles or work preferences and our inability to meet deadline expectations. Personally we may face our limits in physical ability as we age or choose not to go to the gym.
We face our limits spiritually too, and ask questions like: Why do I keep repeating that unhealthy cycle? Why can’t I see myself like God does? Why did I not choose to be generous with my time or resources?
Honestly, the list can go on and on and weigh us down, but it doesn’t need to!
We have a God who has no limits at all and He is more than generous with His children. When we face our limits we need to remember that we face them with God and not alone.
Our God is:
- Limitless—there’s no end to His power or His care for you. (Psalm 145:3)
- Powerful—He can do what we cannot. (Isaiah 40:12)
- Loves you completely—nothing you feel, do, or forget can stop His love. (Psalm 139:17-18)
When we hit the end of our strength, we can come to Him and ask for help because He is more than able to provide for what we cannot. God loves hearing from you, especially in those moments when you feel like you just don’t have what it takes. It brings Him joy to meet us in our need, to show up when we can’t. He’s fantastic at teaching us skills that our experiences in life did not teach us.
And here’s the amazing part, our faith grows as we watch Him answer our prayers, revealing His unlimited love and care in our lives.
So whenever you feel small or weak…stop, breathe, and remember: God’s love for you is bigger than anything you can imagine, and he can bring us beyond our limits.
Have a fantastic week,
