Hey Freedom Family,
It’s with profound sorrow that Gillian and I mourn the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk.
Charlie was more than a political leader; he was an advocate for freedom, family and most importantly faith in Jesus.
I have been inspired and blessed over the years to watch Charlie as he courageously went to university campuses all across America to debate and answer questions with students.
From a Canadian perspective, many of our young people looked up to Charlie. He had a willingness and a gift to speak plainly, to confront cultural lies, and to defend traditional values.
Whether you agreed with Charlie’s political beliefs or not, his death is a loss to the body of Christ. We grieve with his family, his colleagues, his friends and all who loved him.
We also recommit ourselves to a cause which Charlie gave his life for: a society that is rooted in family values with Jesus at the center.
My prayer is that God would take what the enemy meant for destruction and turn it around. I pray that through Charlie’s passing, other Christians would be inspired to stand up and speak boldly for the cause of Christ.
At this moment of mourning, we pray for peace, and for comfort for his loved ones. May his legacy inspire us as the body of Christ in Canada to stand with a greater measure of God’s love, courage and unity.
We thank you, God, for Charlie.
